The Wealth Management Underwriter is a developing professional role. This is a  role to support the Real Estate other Structured Lending and lending in Asia Pacific (covering products like residential real estate, commercial real estate, insurance premium financing)


Responsibilities:

RRE Underwriting

  • Provide support to Transactor which includes credit underwriting, end-to-end transaction processing and post-transaction portfolio management for credit facilities facilities.
    • Compilation of information and performing of credit analysis
    • Ensure all credit analysis are in compliance with local regulations, the Product Programs, Citi Credit Policy and other related CPB Policies and Standards
    • Prepare credit memo and facilitate credit approval
    • Liaise with Valuers and Legal counsel for valuation report, loan documentation and deal closing (include line availment and funding)
    • Work closely with credit controllers to complete systemic set up
    • Annual review of the classifiably managed facilities.
    • Deal with any ad-hoc requests from compliance or senior management as required (including portfolio reviews and CCAR)
    • Interact with auditors (internal and external) and regulators for underwriting related matters.

General Support

This would cover among other things,

  • Insurance request, renewal and related approvals
  • Covenant or credit approval condition monitoring
  • Valuation updates
  • Work with the data repoirting teams and other underwriters for the Annual Net AUM test for the HK Real Estate portfolio
  • Review annual land search for the HK Real Estate portfolio
  • Assisting in Real Estate program manager and transactor for the periodic Portfolio Management, reporting and remedial management
  • Participating in Strategic / Ad hoc projects, system enhancements, Compliance review, Internal Audit, and other control activities

Qualifications:

  • 4 to 5 years relevant experience
  • Strong analytical, financial structuring and execution skills
  • An in depth knowledge and understanding of Financial Analysis including Financial and cash flow modelling
  • Good administrative and organizational skills
  • Attention to detail and adherence to policies and procedures
  • Good working knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Good communication (written and verbal)
  • Team Player
  • Knowledge or ability to quickly understand the core Private Banking lending systems. Ability or working knowledge of understanding the supporting systems including the loan booking, reporting systems and document management systems.
  • Good working knowledge of Citibank’s Credit Policies, Product Programs and Citi Policies would be an advantage

Education:

  • Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience
