Primary Responsibility for writing Credit Approval memos, collateral analysis and loan underwriting for Private Equity financing transactions
Primary Responsibility for quarterly collateral and covenant monitoring on existing portfolio
Assisting PE Transactors in Coordination / Preparation of Green light memos and returns computations (as applicable)
Assisting PE Transactors in the sales of Subscription Line Lending Products to Private Equity clients – the role includes some client calling and account planning, in partnership with PE focused Private Bankers
Assisting PE Transactors in preparing and negotiating term sheets
Preparing Deal Closing Memos and undertaking the annual review of transactions with Risk Management, as required, for PE lending facilities
Responsible for appropriate transaction structuring and execution (within the SCF product program) with appropriate risk and return characteristics, ensuring appropriate Credit Policy and Risk Acceptance standard compliance
Negotiating credit documentation for facilities, including liaison with internal and external counsel as required – driving deals to closing in partnership with the Transactors
Assisting in early problem recognition processes including proposing, when deemed appropriate, credit classification and appropriate risk rating on specific transactions/ relationships
Participation in remedial management actions together with SARG as required
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
This is a demanding role for which a strong mix of deal management, credit and process skills is crucial. It requires an ability to influence stakeholders, including bankers, clients, Risk, auditors or other areas of the Bank, to deliver against timelines and to ensure processes meet the Bank’s highest standards.
University graduate or higher with at least 3-5 years of experience in the finance industry, preferably in a lending or credit related role;
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal in good English) and interpersonal skills;
Strong Financial and cash flow modelling skills are essential;
Strong and proven analytical, credit structuring and execution skills
Good negotiation skills and interactive approach to problem solving
Prior experience with credit documentation or accounting / legal background is a significant advantage;
Some marketing skills are helpful, balanced with strong credit skills;
Some experience of risk related to derivatives preferred but not essential;
Prior experience from the PE and Financial Sponsor sector desirable but not essential;
Knowledge of Citibank’s Credit Policies desirable but not essential;
Ability to take initiative and deliver under pressure to tight deadlines with strong attention to detail;
