The Investment Strategy Sr. Lead is a strategic professional who closely follows latest trends in markets and adapts them for application within the business.
Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level and to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers.
Represent global investment committee to clients and internal audience. Deliver the bank’s views to media and through social media channels.
Must be skilled in writing and speaking, in Chinese Mandarin (Cantonese is a plus).
Identify short- and long-term investment opportunities across asset classes, including equity, fixed income, FX, traditional and alternative funds for CPB investors in the region and for presenting, commenting and writing about such opportunities in diverse forums.
Provide surveillance of emerging macroeconomic and political developments across the region and will work with Citi Research analysts and product specialists to help identify individual investment opportunities across fixed income, equities and currency markets.
Contribute to monthly regional and global strategy reports, as well as semi-annual outlook reports
Be able to translate to and originate in Chinese
Disseminate strategy views:
Communicate global strategy views to internal audience by conducting morning sales meetings, attending team meetings, participating in product development and Contributing to strategy content in other regions (US and EMEA)
Engage media channels to demonstrate CPB thought leadership
Promote team content on select social media channels in Chinese and English
Meet with regional clients, speak at client events / calls
Follow up with client requests, conduct regular updates
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
5-10 years of investments / research experience
Highly effective in writing research, with deep understanding of market dynamics. Experience with Chinese investors is preferred
Excellent communication/presentation skills, ability to simplify complex ideas to illustrate key actionable points
Critical language requirements: Must be fluent in English and Mandarin (Cantonese is a plus). Speaking, reading and writing skills are needed. Be able to effectively translate from English to Chinese.
