Cards Portfolio - Senior Analyst
The Business Analytics Sr Analyst is a seasoned professional role. Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the development of new techniques and the improvement of processes and work-flow for the area or function. Integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the function and overall business. Evaluates moderately complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, where development of an approach/taking of an action involves weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations using multiple sources of information. Requires good analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources. Excellent communication and diplomacy skills are required. Regularly assumes informal/formal leadership role within teams. Involved in coaching and training of new recruits. Significant impact in terms of project size, geography, etc. by influencing decisions through advice, counsel and/or facilitating services to others in area of specialization. Work and performance of all teams in the area are directly affected by the performance of the individual.
Governance team is responsible for implementation of data related initiatives as part of the global transformation efforts aligned with Global Consumer Bank. The critical areas we support:
•Regulatory Support: Execution of business data quality measurements as per regulatory programs like CCAR, AML, Consent Order etc
•Metrics Design: Identification of critical data elements in different systems, data quality rules design, Testing and validation of rules
•Data Governance: Standardization of data definitions and ensuring consistency in measurement as per definitions across systems/products/regions; conformance to Citi Data Governance Policy
•DQ Score cards: Publishing monthly/quarterly score cards at country level and preparing executive summary reports for senior management
•Issue Management: Identifying defects and investigating root causes for different issues. Following up with stakeholders for resolution as per SLA
•Audit Support: Identifying cases on control gaps, policy breaches and providing data evidence for audit completion
Analytical / Project management Skills
•Drive CDE identification; DQ rules and measurements, DQ scorecards and reporting
•Drive business product manager alignments and lineage sign offs
•Drive identification of CDEs across system lineage / trusted sources
•Drive data profiling; Develop consistent DQ rules across DQ dimensions
•Drive implementation of data quality measurement scorecards
•Identify DQ issues and assist in red metrics reductions
•Report data quality / scorecards
•Assist metadata for physical & logical data elements
•Lead efforts to implement policies, procedures and system enhancements to fill current and future Data Governance Gaps
•Provide all the support to Data Governance/Data Stewards including Partner / stakeholder management, expectations settings with partners, prioritization of work to team members, and act as Data and functional SME.
•Develop and maintain project management trackers and provide regular updates to managers, senior leadership team and stakeholders.
•Ensuring required controls, checks, governance, process documentation is always up-to date and maintained regularly.
•Efficient People Management & Project Management skills
Tools and Platforms
•Data Lineage Tools, Metadata Management Tools
•Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word
•Understanding of Enterprise Data Warehouse like Bigdata, Teradata, IBM DB2, Oracle
•Exposure to SAS, Python, SQL/data retrieving tools
Good understanding of
•Knowledge of consumer banking processes and controls
•Reasonable Data Management understanding
•Seasoned go getter who can manage uncertainty
•Able to influence large and diverse set of stakeholders
•Detail oriented; diligent and self-driven
•Good mix of product mgmt. / technology background
•Experience in managing projects and requirements
•Banking domain (Cards, Deposit, Loans, Wealth management, & Insurance etc.)
•Data Governance framework
•Risk & control Metrics
(Preferred) - Knowledge of Finance Regulations, Understanding of Audit Process
•Exposure to BI tools and technologies – example: Tableau or Cognos or MS BI or Qlikview, etc.
•Automation and process re-engineering / optimization skills
•Ability to identify, clearly articulate and solve complex business problems and present them to the senior management or partners in a structured and simpler form
•Should have excellent communication and inter-personal skills
•Good process/project management skills
•Mentoring junior members in the team
•Ability to work well across multiple functional areas
•Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
•Contribute to organizational initiatives in wide ranging areas including competency development, training, organizational building activities etc.
•Proactive approach in solving problems and eye for details
•A strong team player
- Bachelors/University degree or equivalent experience
8+ years of hands on experience in data governance
