The successful candidate will be responsible for executing a Global governance process supporting efficient Capital management. Parent Company Treasury is comprised of Citigroup Stand alone and Citicorp LLC (Intermediate Holding Company). The job environment will be fast paced and fluid, with the successful candidate capable of effectively handling shifting / conflicting priorities.


This role will closely follow latest trends in own field and adapts them for application within own job and the business. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas. Accountable for significant direct business results or authoritative advice regarding the operations of the business.

The role will also play a key role in the development of balance sheet analysis tools and support for broader Liquidity, Funding and Interest rate risk requirements.


Key Responsibilities

  • Execution, review and recommendation for approval of firm-wide Legal Entity Capital Requests.
  • Execution, review and recommendation for approval of firm-wide Corporate Guarantee Requests
  • Responsible for a wide range of activities for the Parent Company (PCO) Legal Entity Treasury. PCO Treasury takes a critical role in virtually all major Treasury initiatives including:
    • Management of Parent Company Liquidity position and funding flows including supporting closely coordinated positioning requirements of Bank and Broker Dealer intercompany flows.
    • Legal vehicle re-structuring initiatives related to changes in tax rules, emerging/ongoing resolution requirements, legal entity simplification, and acquisition/divestiture activity.
    • Capital markets activities including commercial paper and securitization; liquidity, accrual risk oversight and transfer pricing.
    • M&A support for major acquisition/divestiture/joint venture initiatives.
    • Treasury support for Global Operations and technology initiatives, including Citi Ventures Inc.
  • The position will require both individual analytical work as well as partnership across multiple functional and geographic teams to identify solutions to business inquiries in a timely manner and own the implementation / execution steps to autonomously drive open issues to completion.

Key Stakeholders

  • The role reports to the Parent Company Treasurer
  • Exposure into various facets of Risk and Finance teams within Citi; interacting with various levels within the organization.
  • Interaction with a Global team of Treasury professionals, Controllers and Legal teams, Risk management and Internal audit partners

Risk Management

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
  • 7+ years of experience working for a financial services organization, including Treasury, Capital management or liquidity management highly preferred
  • Proficiency with Appian and standard analysis tools (Excel / Access / SQL)
  • Demonstrates thorough knowledge fundamental Corporate Accounting including Balance Sheet, Equity and P&L
  • Strong Risk and controls mindset balancing process capability to deliver results in condensed timeliness
  • Excellent written and oral communication
