Job Purpose:

Focus:

  • Act as Bank Account Controls Coordinator (BACC) and local BACC Policy Owner
  • Act as local Manual Payment Policy Owner (MPP)
  • Act as main contact for the Foreign Trade and Payments Ordinance (AWV)
  • Act as New Product Approval Committee (NPAC) Coordinator for OTRC
  • Coordination of garnished claims (Pfändungen) received on behalf of CEP Germany customers from the Federal Office of Justice and others
  • Execution of the German Payment Statistics (Zahlungsverkehrsstatistik)
  • GRITT (Global Regulatory Inventory Tracking Tool)
  • Support the OTRC Team in regards to special assignments and initiatives
  • Apply good understanding of procedures and concepts across the Bank owned processes to ensure appropriate steps and controls are being taken.
  • Make evaluative judgements to solve problems based on factual analysis.
  • select solutions through application of acquired technical experience and guided by precedents.
  • Identify control deficiencies and escalate timely to ensure resolution.
  • Work closely with Operations Controls departments in EMEA
  • Lead or support various projects to improve and streamline Regulatory Reporting.
  • Create, develop, and maintain relevant business relationships

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take over the role of Bank Account Controls Coordinator and act as single point of contact, in country, for the Bank Signatory Management (BSM) team to identify in country contacts as necessary. 
  • Local ownership of the BACC Policy as well as the Manual Payment Policy. Tasks includes awareness of policy changes and communication to the Compliance office for Senior Management attention
  • Act as subject matter expert for the Foreign Trade and Payments Ordinance (AWV). This includes the awareness, analysis and understanding of changes from ECB and German Central Bank as well as the communication to the stakeholders. Also act as first point of contact for AWV related audits
  • Review, coordinate and provide feedback to the OTRC Approver for the New Product Approval Committee (NPAC) in close cooperation with Operations where required
  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer, co-ordinate and follow up on the completion of garnished claims received on behalf of CEP Germany customers from the Federal Office of Justice and others. This includes a close cooperation with local Legal, the Citi offices in Dublin and Warsaw, Account Management and Risk Management
  • Execute CEP and CNAF Payments Statistics (Zahlungsverkehrsstatistik) reporting, coordinate and communicate policy changes to Technology and Dublin Head office and ensure quality assurance
  • Act as administrative contact for the Global Regulatory Inventory Tracking Tool (GRITT) reporting. Ensure completeness and accuracy in regards to AWV, Payments Statistic and WpInvest
  • Support the OTRC Team in special projects, initiatives and assignments and in cases of bottlenecks in the day to day processing
  • Develop and run effective control frameworks
  • Ensure essential procedures are followed and contribute to defining standards
  • Validate the documentation of new processes and procedures as well as updates
  • Provide proactive business analysis and solutions to ensure efficient and quality service
  • Ensure timely escalation of potential risk issues
  • Monitor market regulatory changes and ensure activities are in line with requirements
  • Apply in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the entire function
  • Plan and coordinate across multiple teams, functions and jurisdictions, focus on quality increase
  • Deal independently with internal and external request and Audit requests
  • Handle occasionally complex and variable issues with significant departmental impact
  • Maintain and build networks / good contacts and relationships both internally and externally with the regulators (where required) to make changes and solve issues

Qualifications:

  • University degree or other equivalent financial background preferred
  • Knowledge of Operational and regulatory requirements,

Experience/Knowledge:

  • Senior level experience in a related role
  • 5-10 years banking experience, with focus on Controls for at least 5 years
  • Significant understanding and experience of the German Banking law requirements (e.g. KWG/MARisk/WpHg and Depot law)
  • Knowledge of the Germanic Banking Markets and products associated with it.
  • Proven ability to manage, interact and negotiate at Regional and Global levels.
  • Proven experience in complex projects
