Business Analyst (Junior) - Europe Cluster Head

Job Purpose:

  • Provide support to the Europe Cluster Head and her Chief of Staff in the management of the Europe franchise including analysis, data gathering, presentations, coordination, meeting preparations, etc.
  • Increasing the strength of the Citi franchise by assisting in deepening and strengthening the relationships with our key clients through market, business and competitor analysis and developing a thorough understanding of our service model.

Job Background/context:

The role primarily supports the Europe Cluster Head office and her Chief of Staff on analysis, planning, strategy, presentation and implementation of projects and initiatives as well as assisting in preparation for country and business reviews.

Key Responsibilities:

Management Governance:

  • Work with the Cluster Head and countries to prepare for governance meetings at the EMEA, Europe and country level including for specific legal vehicles
  • Help with orchestration and meeting set ups, follow-ups etc.
  • Assist the Cluster Head with board presentations and preparations, including as needed to the Citi or other boards (eg CEP / CGME etc)

  • Prepare the cluster head for regulatory meetings including reviewing and updating briefing notes across Europe

External Associations:

  • Work on the strategy and engagement of the Cluster Head with external associations for both client and advocacy purposes
  • Prepare briefing notes and ensure all angles are covered with client opportunities
  • Liase with Government Affairs on advocacy strategy and preparations as needed

Public Affairs

  • In partnership with GPA prepare for town halls, announcements and other internal communications for the Cluster; prepare for talent / employee events
  • Drive a media strategy and preparedness for the Europe Cluster


  • Work with the respective businesses on the client strategy for the Europe Cluster
  • Edit and prepare client briefing materials for meetings

Senior Visits

  • Support creation of high quality senior visit agendas with EMT / EMEA Opco and other seniors that come into Europe
  • Maintain with the admin assistant the Europe Forward Calendar


  • Support coordination of region-wide projects including GDPR, RIM, Libor transition etc.


  • Any other tasks and projects etc. as assigned to the incumbent including day to day correspondence and escalations

Person Specification


We are looking for a highly motivated individual who demonstrates strong interpersonal skills as well as analytical abilities.

  • Recent graduate with either internship or up to 24 months’ work experience in the financial industry
  • Experience of analysing financial data and financial modelling would be preferred 


  • Advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Ability to work efficiently within a team environments and as an individual contributor
  • Strong communication skills (both written & verbal); Ability to communicate confidently will staff across grade levels
  • Ability to present information in a clear, creative and persuasive manner
  • Ability to efficiently plan and organise workload from various sources within tight deadlines
  • Fluent in English (written/verbal); German an advantage
  • Analytical and numerate - Assimilating new information quickly
  • Produce high quality work with strong attention to detail
  • High self-discipline


  • Successful candidates will usually have obtained a degree or equivalent in economics or business administration.  Candidates who do not match this profile will not be automatically excluded from consideration
