Role and Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership to the management of Capital across US Personal Banking
    • Create, analyze, and present opportunities for capital reduction and optimization, while aligning with business growth goals
    • Coordinate strategies and address insights across Corporate Finance, Capital Planning, Forecasting & Analytics, Regulatory Reporting, and Risk Architecture
    • Work across functional teams, including Finance, to implement capital optimization strategies
    • Support planning cycles and Business Development activities, ensuring alignment with strategic plan and capital optimization initiatives

  • Support Business Development efforts
    • Inject capital-related expertise into the pursuit asset/business acquisitions and other investments
    • Prepare and communicate analyses to describe capital implications of new investments
    • Collaborate with Business Development team and other functional areas to structure program proposals and agreements to optimize capital usage

  • Monitor trends within industry and competitive peer-set
    • Review relevant public financial disclosures and presentations
    • Evaluate USPB capital requirements and attribution methodology, relative to competitors
    • Develop and communicate analyses, conclusions, and recommendations
    • Support structuring and optimization efforts based on competitor practices

Skills Required:

  • Analytical – synthesize data and processes to answer key business questions; translate and align overall business goals to specific projects and actions
  • Communication/Influence – convert quantitative analytics into qualitative recommendations and influence leadership decisions; develop informative presentations which are both professional and message-focused
  • Drive/Initiative – lead projects from conception through implementation; drive teams to adhere to ambitious timetables
  • Financial Modeling - be able to create and improve upon innovative and accurate models that support business strategies
  • Relationship Building – work across functional teams in order to create and deliver effective results; network with corporate functions across geographies
  • Technical knowledge of Basel III knowledge preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products, including Excel and Powerpoint

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Economics, Math, F
  • 5+ years of corporate Finance experience, credit card industry preferred
