The Senior Vice President, Partner Management will lead the relationship and own the P&L for one or more private label and/or cobrand credit card portfolios in Citi Retail Services’ Specialty Partners Group (SPG).  This individual will be chartered with developing deep partner and internal relationships, aligning goals, and driving profitable business growth and financial success for the partner and Citi.  The role will report directly to the General Manager for the Specialty Partners Group Growth Vertical.


  • Develop and execute short and long-term strategic vision, direction, and product-level strategies for partner portfolio(s) to ensure delivery of the financial plan.
  • Responsible for leading cross functional teams to execute against key portfolio strategies, achieving profitability targets as well as driving Portfolio and Program Management activities.
  • Develop periodic plans and forecasting of key portfolio metrics.
  • Drive alignment of strategy across key Citi and Partner stakeholders.
  • Proactively manage Profit & Loss to ensure financial plan is achieved and create solutions to address financial shortfalls.
  • Serve as day-to-day lead for partner relationship.  Lead partner negotiations, including contractual amendments.
  • Monitor processes and controls to ensure contractual compliance.
  • Work closely with Decision Management, Marketing, Risk and Finance to assess program effectiveness and drive modifications to existing programs.
  • Bring the best of Citi and knowledge of industry and market trends to drive value for partners and portfolio growth.
  • Work with cross-functional team and partner to develop financial and strategic business cases for new initiatives, enhancements and modifications to existing products.
  • Drive innovation of new/improved ways to deliver value, enhance performance, service customers and improve processes.
  • Develop presentations for all levels of the organization and partner to articulate the strategic plan, benefits and contingency plans.
  • Partner with portfolio Chief Marketing Officer to design and execute new account acquisition and cardholder engagement strategies.
  • Analyze market trends through primary and secondary research.  Monitor retail environment, credit card space, and market trends to inform strategies and ensure portfolio competitiveness
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citi, its clients and assets by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.


  • 10+ years relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred
  • Experience managing partnership relationships
  • Strategic agility with demonstrated history of providing thought leadership to teams/partners
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Financial acumen with proven ability to understand P&L levers and drive improvements
  • Solid track record of managing complex business and partner needs
  • Exceptional relationship/interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication/presentation and influencing skills; must have ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management and across all functional areas within a highly matrixed environment
  • Strong operator – ability to drive initiatives forward and ensure that teams deliver on commitments
  • Ability to work well under tight deadlines in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Ability to prioritize effectively and handle multiple, diverse initiatives simultaneously
  • High degree of accountability
  • Solid understanding of ecommerce and digital marketing
  • Private label credit or bankcard industry experience preferred
  • Previous people management experience preferred
