This position will lead Cost of Credit (NCL & ACL Forecasting) for CCAR/QMMF for the ~$130Bn ENR NA Cards portfolios.  Key responsibilities include:

•    Quarterly forecasts as well as on-going interactions with various internal/external constituents

•    Work closely with Risk Modeling Utility with respect to model development, validation and enhancements

  • Develop innovative solutions as process evolves and demonstrate high-profile leadership during regulatory review, auditors and the Independent Risk community

•    Primary contact for interactions with Risk Modeling Utility, CFO, CRO, Independent Risk oversight, Capital Planning, and Regulators

The ideal candidate will have 12+ years of experience in a large, sophisticated credit granting or Risk Management organization within a major consumer card or financial services businesses.  Their experience will have been gained in high volume, medium-to low risk environments, where risk assessment, technological sophistication and data mining techniques are critical to their success. This candidate will bring a strong analytical orientation, and appreciation for broad-based risk issues and a familiarity with risk systems. This candidate will have demonstrated record of performance in a sophisticated, fast-paced consumer credit environment. This experience is complimented by excellent overall business judgment.

The candidate should understand all aspects of credit policy as well as the complete Consumer Finance credit cycle. This person must have the ability to manage multiple tasks of varying difficulty and have experience in managing others.

Additionally, the candidate must be able to:

  • Establish solid cross-functional partnerships and networks to contribute and execute against various business initiatives
  • Have the expertise and experience to define, drive, and deliver innovative modeling techniques and data strategies to enable best in class risk management
  • Provide leadership in the management and efficient delivery against requirements set forth by internal Risk oversight group as well as external regulators
  • Have the capability to clearly communicate complex analyses/issues.  Presentations to both technical and non-technical personnel are required as well as presenting to regulators and auditors
  • Provide analytic thought leadership and detailed analytic plans to the team
  • Work efficiently in a matrix environment balancing between business and functional interactions and priorities
  • Leading on- and off-shore teams

  • 12+ years of experience including significant exposure to analytical methodologies and modeling frameworks
  • Ability to influence and lead across cultures as subject matter specialist and executive levels using sound judgment and to execute effectively across businesses and functions
  • Excellent written and verbal executive level communication skills with the ability to articulate complex problems through concise and clear messaging
  • Ability to assess complex issues through root cause analysis and other analytical techniques; quantitative skills and understanding of statistical tools; structure potential solutions; drive to resolution with senior stakeholders
  • Highly motivated with attention to detail, team oriented, organized, pro-active, manage projects against deadlines and mentor staff
  • Bachelor’s in Economics, Statistics, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, and related disciplines. MS or MBA preferred.
