Retail Services is one of North America's largest and most experienced retail credit solution providers of private label and co-brand credit cards for retailers. The business services more than 75 million customer accounts for iconic brick and mortar and online brands, including Best Buy, ExxonMobil, L.L.Bean, Macy's, Sears, Shell, Tractor Supply Company, The Home Depot, and Wayfair. Backed by the global capital, strategic insights and leadership of Citi, Retail Services and Branded Cards together provide consumer credit cards to half of the top 10 U.S. ecommerce companies in 2020. Citi Retail Services generates revenues of ~$7B annually on average loans of ~$50B.  The Citi Retail Services (CRS) Financial Planning and Analysis team is a critical component of the CRS Finance team and overall US Consumer Finance team, providing analytical and strategic support to the CRS FP&A Head and ultimately to the CRS CEO, CFO and overall US Consumer leadership.


We are looking for a highly analytical and dynamic individual to join our CRS FP&A team as part of the broader CRS Finance team.  The Financial Analyst will provide ongoing support to the reporting and stress testing processes to Corporate for the Citi Retail Services business. Citi Retail Services issues private label and co-branded credit cards for some of the nation’s largest retailers, including Home Depot, Macy’s, Best Buy, LL Bean and Sears. The role is viewed as a key player for business analytics and is expected to assist with the overall forecasting process for Retail Services. They will also be involved in ad hoc analytics to summarize business performance and be a key player in the CCAR stress testing process for the business. This person should be a self-starter who can work independently and focus on key deliverables. This role reports to the FP&A Sr. Vice President.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Forecasting – Assists in development of annual Operating Plan, Mid-Year Forecast, and monthly forecasts across Retail Services business
  • Partners across portfolio teams and functions (Marketing, Partner Management, Risk, etc.) within Retail Services on expense matters
  • Coordination and support Treasury for business inputs and funding cost allocation
  • Responsible for assisting in variance analysis across all Forward Looking scenarios (Plan, MY Forecast, Outlook)
  • Identifies financial risks and opportunities and communicates to key members of the finance team
  • Responsible for supporting the analysis, modeling and reporting for capital stress testing for Retail Services.
  • Analysis – Develops, prepares, and presents analysis, presentations, and reporting for internal management on a scheduled and ad-hoc basis
  • Perform ad hoc portfolio analysis as required

Qualifications

  • Strong working knowledge of Excel; Essbase/Hyperion/Smartview a plus
  • Written and verbal communication skills – role is required to be able to present multiple clients and varying key themes in a concise manner
  • Able to multi-task
  • Demonstrated experience in ad hoc analytics
  • 2-5 years of relevant work experience
  • Undergraduate degree required, MBA a plus
