Project Manager of Automation Solutions will be responsible for leading medium to large scaled technology projects that are cross-functional and require collaboration across various departments across PBWM. Responsible for the planning, coordination and delivery of assigned technical programs or projects within the Automation Solutions group, NAM Smart Automation department using a team of professionals primarily using Workflow Manager tools. Position requires strong technology and process background, excellent partner & project management skills, and an exceptional ability to communicate clearly across levels and organizational boundaries.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Responsible for managing the overall planning, execution and delivery of projects:

  • Possess strong organizational and problem-solving skills, and a passion for applying their expertise to manage projects.
  • Builds and maintains working relationships with team members, vendors, and other departments contributing to the projects.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
  • Proactively manages client communications and expectations to ensure client satisfaction in partnership with internal teams
  • Creates and maintains detailed project plans, coordinates tasks and ensures proper task completion
  • Ensures the use of best practices and applies lessons learned from previous projects; shares findings with other project team members
  • Communicate project progress by producing project reports to provide timely and accurate project status to all Stakeholders including the leadership and client partners. In addition, the candidate must have strong leadership, negotiation and conflict management skills.
  • Resource and Team Management:
    • Coordinate resource planning along with group manager to ensure project needs are addressed and effectively assign tasks and deliverables to team members based upon their abilities.
    • Manage contractors from external vendors and serve as advisor or coach to Junior to mid-level developers and analysts, allocating work as necessary
  • Escalate in a timely manner to the appropriate parties to address decisions needed, remove roadblocks and other obstacles or constraints.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related disciplines or an equivalent combination of experience, education and training

  • A minimum of 5 or more years of application development management in financial services, including command of SDLC and PMO methodologies.

Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities

  • Solid understanding across the breadth of commercially used information technology and development platforms (client-server, web based and mobile). Strong knowledge of
    • SharePoint (WSS & MOSS or SharePoint 2013, 2019 and Power Automate)
    • Enterprise Content Management
    • Knowledge Management
    • .NET, C#, JavaScript
    • Workflow tools such as Appian, Power Automate etc.
  • Experience with Project Management tools and methodologies is required. Certification in Project management is a plus. Very good working experience of MS office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) and MS project (or comparable project management tools).
  • Stakeholder and people management experience with a team size of at least 3-5 people.
  • Very good understanding of Software Engineering, Full life cycle experience developing medium to large-scale applications.
  • Extremely strong communication, presentation and influencing skills.
  • Able to create a strong network of relationships among peers, internal partners, external constituencies, decision makers and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrable micro-service/SOA design and implementation experience.
  • Familiarity with messaging/service-bus architecture.
  • Working knowledge of working with databases (Oracle, MongoDB, MS SQL)
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize, prioritize and drive results with a strong sense of urgency.

  • Partner with multiple management teams to ensure appropriate integration of functions to meet goals as well as identify and define necessary system enhancements to deploy new products and process improvements
  • Resolve variety of high impact problems/projects through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards
  • Provide expertise in area and advanced knowledge of applications programming and ensure application design adheres to the overall architecture blueprint
  • Utilize advanced knowledge of system flow and develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation
  • Develop comprehensive knowledge of how areas of business, such as architecture and infrastructure, integrate to accomplish business goals
