This new role is part of ICG Risk and Control Financial Crimes team supporting the ICG Risk & Control – KYC Head in the oversight and ongoing enhancement program of Know Your Customer (KYC) practices across the ICG First Line business.

The role will work closely within ICG Businesses and with Technology partners to facilitate the requirements definition and implementation of enhanced systems requirements for business users and clients that automate and digitize KYC processes.  The role will also determine control and process enhancements that enable ICG businesses to evaluate KYC risk in a comprehensive and optimized manner. The role will work across all lines of business to enhance current Business practices to further improve the effectiveness of KYC risk management in line with all governing Citi policies, procedures and standards.

The role will combine specialist expertise in KYC regulations, standards and practices, as well as organization and process optimization skills to deliver a best in class First Line KYC risk management infrastructure. 


  • Work with First Line and Second Line KYC across different lines of businesses and stakeholders at all levels to develop and oversee the implementation of a continuous improvement plan for the KYC process and controls for ICG in line with policy requirements and all regulatory commitments
  • Lead business process simplification/transformation initiatives
  • Work with ICG First Line to define transformational opportunities for KYC that positively impact ICG business and clients, enhancing the controls infrastructure for KYC risk and meeting all regulatory requirements
  • Work closely with senior stakeholders across ICG businesses, Transformation teams, and Operations to embed client centric transformational opportunities
  • Work with Technology partners to communicate business requirements, impact assessment and clear prioritization for business and clients
  • Work with Client Lifecycle Simplification Product team to ensure project scope definition and requirements meets business and clients’ needs and success criteria 
  • Work with project management resources to consolidate, track and report on the status of work efforts relative to defined committed deadlines
  • Keep informed on development in Financial Crimes area and on industry leading tools and developments that will enhance Citi’s approach to Financial Crime framework

Qualifications & skills:

  • Strong experience in a related role with extensive experience in Financial Services
  • Experience in Transformation, Change Management, Consultancy an advantage
  • Knowledge of KYC/AML rules and regulations, process and risk management
  • Broad and comprehensive knowledge and understanding of banking operations including regulatory requirements and reengineering
  • Relevant experience in managing large complex cross-organization programs
  • Strong program management discipline and experience in one or several of business sectors and global functions
  • Proven track record in terms of evaluating process performance across key metrics and envisioning ways to simplify/reengineer the process to create significant improvement across all key variables.
  • Strong leadership skills and exemplary values role model, with a proven track record in driving positive and sustained change.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills; must be articulate and persuasive with the judgement and authority to provide insightful commentary to senior stakeholders.
