The Transaction Capture Analyst 2 is an intermediate level position responsible for providing analytic and administrative support to various securities related functions, in coordination with the Transaction Capture team. The overall objective of this role is to support traders, maintain position records, and improve process efficiency.

Business Overview / Position Objective

Citi Global Markets Japan is seeking a candidate to join its Markets Middle Office organization who will perform middle office functions in Prime Finance, Futures Clearing team.  

The team's main coverage is listed future products in Japan Exchange and Tokyo Financial Exchange for the clients who have accounts on CGMJ.

We are looking for a candidate who has experiences in financial industries and a mindset of being a team player who can communicate well with colleagues, stakeholders and external clients.   

This person will be responsible for middle office functions of listed future products traded in domestic exchanges and liaise with the Front Office, IT, Finance, Back Office to ensure trades are processed correctly downstream and margin requirements are met in a timely manner. The person will jointly work with colleagues in Singapore on trade and margin reconciliation so offers a great opportunity to work across the APAC region in addition to Japan.

The candidate will also have the opportunity to participate in various future projects including the implementation and support of new regulation, automation/digitization, new trading initiatives and systems, in accordance with their level of experience and development.  

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily Initial Margin and Variation Margin requirement & payments with domestic exchanges and clients on listed future products. 
  • Send daily margin statements to domestic clients and reconcile cash balance
  • Ensure that trades are captured correctly in the booking system by performing trade reconciliation with exchanges and clients
  • Perform reconciliation such as trades and margin and investigate breaks. Speak to exchanges for its resolution as needed.
  • Understand exchange rules and regulations and comply with them. Ensure to implement robust control in daily functions based on the rules and regulations.
  • Work effectively with teams, colleagues outside of Japan, the business and other support functions to provide a high standard of support to business & their clients. 
  • Continuously look for process improvement and efficiencies
  • Have a strong sense of risk and control
  • Timely escalation of issues to Middle Office management
  • Handling queries from clients and other departments, including front office, on trades and margin requirements and other ad-hoc inquires
  • Get involved in system enhancements and projects as a subject matter expert

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Product Knowledge: Working experiences in financial industries is strongly preferred. Listed Derivative Knowledge preferred
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) Fluent in both English and Japanese languages
  • Experiences: Strong organization and multi-tasking skills. Flexibility to handle multiple tasks in fast-paced environment and under time pressure
  • Detail Oriented: Pay attention to detail and can accurately perform regular tasks
  • Interpersonal: Team player and excellent interpersonal skills to develop relationships both internally and externally to collaborate effectively. 
  • Self-starter: Proactively take on resolving issues queries addressed to the team. Ask questions when it is not clear. Willing to get involved in new initiatives.
