The Financial Analyst is a professional role responsible for providing management with an analysis and insight of Citi’s US Personal Bank’s strategic investments.  This in-Business role helps contribute to directional strategy as well as utilizes in-depth specialty knowledge to provide advice/counsel on the evaluation of the Bank’s current and projected performance related to new business investments.  Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas.



Responsibilities:

  • Develops and maintains financial models in support of network investment ROI projections (market level and site specific).
  • Serves as primary liaison between various departments for the aggregation of financials assumptions (model inputs: staffing, balances, capital, expense, etc.).
  • Tracks performance assessments against projections / budgets / goals.
  • Coordinates executive approvals of high-dollar value capital requests.
  • Performs ad hoc analysis where required to assist in management decision making.
  • Creates reports to clearly summarize trends and provide insight to senior management.
  • Advises on directional strategy and provides guidance on significant business decisions.
  • Executes analysis of annual multi-year plans and mid-year reforecasts.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with key partners and senior management to influence behavior and decision making.
  • Prepares presentations and analysis.
  • Ensures all stakeholders are identified and included in scope definition activities and understands the program schedule and key milestones.
  • Works with Program Sponsor to ensure business case cost benefit analysis is in line with business objectives.
  • Escalates program risks to the Program Director, or Program Sponsor, when appropriate.
  • Ensures essential procedures are followed and contributes to defining standards.
  • Appropriately assesses risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of financial analysis / financial planning & analysis
  • Strong quantitative abilities
  • Able to solve complex problems
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to build relationships
  • Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision and can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy
  • Proficient computer skills with a focus on Microsoft Office applications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
