Operations Manager – Legacy Operations.

The Ops Sup Manager is an intermediate management level position responsible for providing full leadership and direction to a team of employees in an effort to provide operations support services in coordination with the Operations - Core team. As part of the Legacy Franchises leadership team, the role ensures that the  APAC and EMEA Consumer Operations is aligned to Citi’s Global Strategic Refresh. The overall objective of this role is to ensure the seamless delivery of operations support services in alignment with Citi operations support infrastructure and processes.

The person should have experience in handling Retail Banking Operations with good understanding of Citi’s Sanction/AML policies and can demonstrate effective governance of third party vendors. Experience in handling Operations process migrations and/or implementing system changes, Strong communication, diplomacy skills and stakeholder management are required. Regularly connect with senior stakeholders to understand the expectations and guide the team to delivery as needed. Involved in coaching and training of team members on products and processes related to Consumer banking operations

The successful candidate will be responsible to lead a small team within Consumer Operations that manages Core Operations across Account Maintenance, Payment and Investment Operations etc. with a mandate to demonstrate successful migration from one system to another and establish new processes for servicing client requests from Unclaimed Deposit and Investments.


  • Lead the Operations delivery for Unclaimed Deposit and Investments process for Citibank UK Limited.
  • Lead the Lead the migration of process from third party vendor to inhouse and implementation of process & controls as subject matter expert by applying in-depth knowledge and understanding of local regulatory requirements.
  • Manage complex and highly variable issues associated with transaction processing for Unclaimed deposit and Investment holdings that have regulatory implications.
  • Provide effective oversight of TCS Operations delivery and ensure their performance adhere to SLA in terms of accuracy and timelines.
  • Perform day to day monitoring of Key Operational metrics ensuring such metrics are accurate and any inaccurate/incomplete data is challenged appropriately
  • Ensure appropriate controls are in place and they are tested effectively through the MCA process
  • Own Issues and manage Corrective action plan that may arise through engagement with stakeholders involved for timely completion and resolution of breaches/issues
  • Supervise, motivate, and develop the team, ensuring the quality of deliverables meets or exceeds expectations
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards
  • Support department through delegation of tasks and responsibilities for multiple processes appropriately


Education:           Bachelor’s degree/ MBA/CA


  • 12+ years of experience in Banking Operations processes
  • Very good understanding & Exposure to Core Operations across Account Maintenance, Payment and Investment Operations would be preferred
  • 7+ years of managing teams with experience of handling at least 1 process migration

    • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
    • Competence in Risk & Control, detailed knowledge of Citi policies and procedures, ability to identify and mitigate emerging risks
