Role and team summary:

Citi Markets Trading Risk and Control is looking for a Vice President with experience in processes which give rise to Price Risk to define and implement improved the reporting standards across the Global Market businesses. The successful candidate will have prior experience, knowledge and understanding of Price Risk processes including the processes for valuing trades, independent price verification, T0 P&L estimates, T+1 reporting including Profit Attribution Analysis as well as Market Risk intraday and end of day controls. The successful candidate will also be a control focused individual who can think through how control reports can be consolidated and presented in impactful ways.

This role is a key member of a broader 1st Line Risk & Control function directly supporting Global Markets as one of the major businesses within the Institutional Clients Group. The Global Markets Risk & Control team is mandated to establish and maintain a robust 1st Line of Defence designed to minimize risk within the business including leading critical control remediation projects to mitigate risk in Trading, Financial Crimes and Conduct while ensuring strong governance to measure, monitor, manage and escalate key risks.

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Implement and run new first line controls in relation to key performance indicators. This will include building out the governance and BAU monitoring activities.
  • Perform a review of current state reporting, including relevance for audience, feedback loops and escalation procedures relevant to Price Risk against peers to identify high level gaps and enhancements to improve consistency
  • Define and document business requirements for enhancements to existing internal Global Markets generated reporting, including defined business hierarchy data, feedback loops, escalation, scope, frequency of reports provided at different levels of the organization
  • Define & document required risk measures, KRIs, reporting & escalation. Produce requirements for a) dashboard/reports incl exposure vs limits, breaches, escalation workflow b) automated reporting
  • Create actionable deliverables and drive the agenda forward
  • Track and provide regular report updates
  • Measure success metrics and monitor change progress
  • Successful execution will require partnership across all Global Markets businesses and will include traders, CAOs and Business Management, Finance, FO and Finance Technology teams. It will also involve frequent interaction with Internal Audit

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • At least 5+ years’ experience, ideally in Finance / Product Control role.
  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred.
  • Strong ability in interacting with and influencing senior business stakeholders.
  • Capable of prioritizing and multi-tasking in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills; Must be articulate and persuasive.
  • Strong track record in strategic design and implementation, delivering complex solutions.
  • Strong financial, analytical, strategic planning and problem solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite including Excel, Powerpoint, PowerBI and SharePoint.
