TPU Pre-Contract Due Diligence & Research Team Lead is a senior role and accomplishes results through the management of professional team(s), partnering with Sourcing and Businesses on supplier onboarding due diligence and risk management. Requires commercial awareness. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas. Has responsibility for volume, quality, timeliness and delivery of end results of an area. Involved in short-term planning resource planning. Full management responsibility of a team, which may include management of people, budget and planning, to include duties such as performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, etc., while leading a diverse team, ensuring the development of the staff members and creating a positive teamwork environment.


  • Execute common, standardized third-party risk management processes with the Teams, managed centrally by the TPU
  • Provide expert guidance and support on the development of key controls, standard processes, operating procedures, and promulgation of best practices
  • Build strong internal relationships and help strengthen controls and awareness across Citi businesses globally
  • Acts as a liaison between various internal and external stakeholders to provide process support throughout the third-party management life cycle
  • Liaise with Third Party Officers (TPOs), Business Activity Owners (BAOs), Sourcing and Sector and Regional Risk teams as necessary, to review findings, when related to business actions taken or to be taken
  • Provide support to Citi businesses for the execution of third-party risk management activities throughout the third-party management lifecycle
  • People management responsibility for a team, including coaching and training, as well as regular performance management. Support individuals’ growth and development agenda. Ensure that people management related tasks are executed in the managed team in accordance with Citi policies and procedures, complying with statutory regulations and laws (e.g. recruitment, work orders, managing performance, etc.)
  • Create and maintain an engaging work environment where all members of the team work to maximise their individual and team performance.
  • Monitor metrics and performance indicators. Identify trends, process gaps and bottlenecks, as well as standardization / reengineering opportunities. Take ownership to complete actions resulting from trends / process reviews in cooperation with global process owners.
  • Operate a strong control environment where all controls work effectively resulting in an effective process as a minimum. Raise control issues and work on those issues to resolution. Assist in audit and compliance efforts for department and own the results and action plans.
  • Foster and nurture a culture of innovation and collaboration by creating environments. Deliver remarkable experiences through an end-to-end process view and overthrow functional boundaries and silos. 

Qualification and Experience:

  • 6-10 years experience working in multinational, supply chain, shared service environment
  • Stakeholder management experience, Operational discipline/cadence
  • Direct people management experience
  • Fluent English knowledge
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal & written
  • Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred
