Join our Legal Team as a Senior Legal Counsel!

​Your responsibilities:

  • Preparation and maintenance of standard precedent contracts.

  • Support preparation, review  of procedures and internal instructions providing for the legal framework of operations, preparing legal opinions on internal procedures prepared by other departments.

  • Setting up the legal framework for new products.

  • Representation of Citi in licensing, administrative and court proceedings.

  • Preparation of documents and submissions relating to the corporate operations of Citi.

  • Assisting in the operations of the relevant corporate bodies, preparing proposals and draft resolutions.

  • Preparing legal opinions (e.g. interpretation of legal rules, opining on draft legal rules, opining on existing contracts).

  • Legal handling of customer claims.

  • Preparing (negotiating) and drafting individual, non-standard contracts.

  • Representation of Citi before courts and authorities, preparing submission and other documents, supporting preparation of concluding settlements.

  • Co-operation with other legal counsels of Citi and with external lawyers.

  • Provide assistance to all the Departments in interpreting the legal requirements.

Requirements:

  • Hungarian language proficiency

  • University degree, faculty of law (Hungarian law degree)

  • Hungarian Bar exam

  • At least 7 years’ experience most importantly in financial law, other areas of expertise which are a benefit: labour law, general civil law, data privacy

  • In-depth understanding of relevant laws.

  • Advanced level English (verbal and written), to be able to communicate one's legal opinion about an issue with the same depth as in Hungarian and with the same speed. Also being able to fluently communicate with local and/or regional seniors in English.

  • User level computer skills (MS Windows, Office, Excell, CD Jogtár/Cégtár)

  • Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills, ability to properly prioritize.

  • Integrity

  • Being a team player, and also being able to lead projects, do individual work.
