Senior Financial Specialist – Assistant Vice President

We are looking for a talented Finance or BI professional to join our in-house specialist unit. This is a highly attractive role, where you will have exposure to high-stakes projects, such as the EU-wide Stress Testing exercise. The MLE Expert Unit is a multidisciplinary specialist team for Citi’s Material Legal Entities in EMEA Finance. They work on a project-basis to deliver solutions that rationalize, enhance, and automate business processes, as well as improve regulatory returns produced by CSC Finance in Budapest.

In this position you will use and expand your experience and professional skills for the following responsibilities:

  • Work in cooperation with various teams across Citi, external consultants, and project specialists to rationalize and automate financial and regulatory reports, internal processes, and management information systems
  • Act as an SME and help drive the EBA/ECB Stress Testing project as well as Citi’s ICAAP Stress Testing exercise on the CSC Finance side
  • Contribute to the technical innovation effort to further improve data management capabilities and process automation both within the stress testing projects and beyond
  • Act as a checker of critical project deliverables and develop new ways to perform reconciliations between various data sources and templates during the stress testing exercise
  • Contribute proactively to the MLE Expert Unit's project workflows by identifying and implementing process improvement initiatives and standardization ideas that increase productivity and efficiency, while reducing process cycle times and errors within CSC Finance
  • Act as a subject-matter-expert in the finance, risk, and regulatory policy domain, and help train team members

What we consider a potentially good mix of qualifications and skills:

  • This role is ideal for an individual with 5+ years of relevant experience, but exceptions apply for special talents
  • Knowledge of financial markets, banking products, understanding of key concepts in finance, financial risk management (credit risk & market risk), and regulatory policy (Basel Accords, COREP, FINREP, CRR, CRR2, and related topics) are considered important assets for this position
  • Financial Services Industry, Consulting and/or a quantitative/techy background is preferred, but exceptions apply
  • Experience with reporting processes, regulatory reporting, and related projects is a big plus
  • Expert-level Excel skills with working experience in process automation, using VBA, Power Query or any other scripting solution is highly valued
  • Programming knowledge in any leading technology such as Python or Java, and familiarity with SQL is a strong plus
  • Experience with data transformation tools, data analytics platforms such as KNIME and/or Power BI would be nice to have
  • A very proactive, helpful, and problem-solving attitude is considered ideal
