Senior Expert in Finance

We are looking for a tech savvy finance professional to join our expert unit to handle financial, regulatory, and technical challenges faced by Citibank's Material Legal Entities (MLEs), and help us drive the EU-wide Stressed RWA exercise. The MLE Expert Unit consists of senior individuals who work on a project-basis to deliver solutions that rationalize, enhance, and automate business processes, as well as improve regulatory returns within the Finance Regulatory Reporting department. The team can also be called upon to supervise critical BAU processes, temporarily lead reporting teams to ensure business continuity, solve emerging problems, and drive change management, in effect serving as an internal consulting unit.

As a Senior Expert in Finance you will

  • proactively take part in projects that enhance, rationalize, and automate financial and regulatory reports, internal processes and management information systems
  • drive the EBA Stress Testing exercise in cooperation with the project manager, consultants, and reporting teams
  • find interconnections across different databases (FINREP, COREP, Risk, Liquidity, Product Control, etc.) and merge them based on the regulatory need
  • oversee the Stressed RWA workstream and take part in any related model and tool development tasks as part of the Stress Testing exercise
  • ensure full compliance with the latest regulatory requirements for Stress RWA reporting, and stay on top of any methodology changes
  • provide expert assistance to critical processes in order to deliver regulatory returns within established timelines - if needed, oversee and support the daily/monthly/quarterly report production, and fulfil the checker role in case of complex returns.
  • keep senior leadership informed of unusual financial details and escalate efficiently
  • consult with the Policy and Quality Assurance teams; actively participate in Q&A sessions with the Regulator

Ideal background

  • fluent English knowledge
  • 5-8 years of professional experience  - Financial Services Industry, Consulting and/or a quantitative background is preferred
  • university degree from a business, economics or technology field
  • deep understanding of financial markets, banking products, and risk management - keywords: EBA’s stress testing, Stressed RWA calculation and regulatory policy (Basel Accords, CRD, CRR, Credit Risk, ICAAP, COREP, FINREP)
  • advanced MS Excel knowledge is a must, and MS Office automation skills with VBA, Power Query or other scripting solutions would be preferable
  • experience with data transformations tools and data analytics platforms such as Python/ SQL/ Knime/ SaaS/ Power BI or other leading technologies is an advantage
  • understanding of econometrics and quantitative modelling is highly valued
  • experience with reporting processes, regulatory reporting, and related projects is an advantage
