Responsibilities
In support of Citi’s Cyber Intelligence Center (CIC) mission, the Tactical Intelligence Team is accountable for producing and providing high fidelity intelligence. Team members in this role are directly responsible for triaging intelligence, producing alerts, and developing neighboring working relationships with other teams in supporting the handling of emerging threats facing the financial industry.
This role supports the acquisition, vetting, and validation of cyber threat intelligence from various internal and external sources that focuses on the fidelity and contextual analysis of indicators of compromise and attackers TTPs (tactics, techniques, and procedures) in support of security operations.
The Intelligence Senior Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for leading efforts to prevent, monitor and respond to information/data breaches and cyber-attacks. The overall objective of this role is to ensure the execution of Information Security directives and activities in alignment with Citi's data security policy.
Job Background
The Citi Cyber Intelligence Center (CIC) is part of the Global Information Security organization and is responsible for analyzing cyber threat information designed to increase Citi's cyber threat awareness and protection levels. By providing awareness, indications, warnings and operational readiness, the CIC protects the Citi brand, global business operations, technology infrastructure and client trust against cyber threats worldwide.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform Threat Intelligence review, follow-up, alerting function responsibilities (open / update threat tickets) and Handover on a daily basis
- Triage tactical, technical reporting in real time to determine its accuracy and identify threats of potential interest and impact to Citi and its clients.
- Actively monitor and research cyber threats and perform briefings (both written and verbal) on a daily basis
- Provide accurate impact assessment analysis based on intelligence received, and prior cyber and business knowledge attained
- Provide real-time and local intelligence support to other operational teams from inside a Fusion Center environment.
- Maintain general situational awareness of the cyber threat environment and understand the cyber threat intelligence lifecycle.
- Provide expertise and guidance to other junior team members on cyber security knowledge
- Regularly support, involve and liaise with other CIC Threat Intelligence Teams
- Participate in conference calls with third party intelligence providers to review cyber threat deliverables, intelligence gap support requests, guide analytic discussions and nominate topics to be covered during the calls.
- Complete all tasks in connection with the organization’s activity but not detailed in the current job description, charged by the direct or matrix managers.
Qualifications:
Experience working in an operational environment where multiple competing items must be prioritized and delivered daily.
- Working knowledge and experience with ticketing systems and related activities.
- Experience in roles requiring standards of written and verbal communication.
- Preferably 3+ years in a threat intelligence function and/or information security role.
- Well-versed and able to articulate in at least four of the following concepts: Cyber Kill Chain, Diamond Model, Advanced Persistent Threat, Third Party Risks, Cybercrime, Hacktivism, Cyber Fraud, Malware and Ransomware, Mobile Threats, Social Engineering, Insider Threats, Incident Response, Threat Intelligence, and Host and Network-based security.

- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Organizational and self-directing skills – ability to initiate, coordinate and prioritize responsible and follow through on tasks to completion.
- Able to work independently on a variety of assignments with minimal supervision.
