Responsibilities
Payroll Manager

We are looking for a Payroll Manager to the Citi Shared Services Payroll Team, which is based in Budapest and is responsible for managing 30 countries’ payroll processes across the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.
This is a management role reporting into the EMEA Regional Payroll Manager ensuring the effective production of payroll across the EMEA Cluster.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the monthly payroll operations across the assigned cluster in line with the service level agreements
- Perform the required checks to the monthly payroll accounting balances
- Work with internal Risk and Control teams on internal audit controls and identify control improvements
- Be in direct contact with the EMEA Regional Total Rewards Manager and escalate relevant issues promptly
- Collaborate with all relevant HR Shared Services teams on reengineering, migration and automation of payroll activities
- Manage the team of payroll analysts ensuring they comply with all policies and procedures
- Focus on the continuous development of the payroll team members by arranging training, coaching and team building activities
Ideal background:
- Bachelor’s/University degree
- 5+ years of HR operations experience including expatriates and benefits
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- In depth knowledge of best practice payroll methodologies and employee / employer tax legislation
- Sound financial management skills
- Strong people management and leadership skills
