Finance Business Analyst

Be part of our expanding Citi Finance Team in Budapest and join us as a

Finance Business Analyst!

Product Control is the largest department in Finance primarily responsible for controlling daily profit and loss reporting, price verification and trading activity for the Institutional Clients Group.

Within this department, you will be part of a team, which is dealing with project implementation and business analysis in support of global Product Control programs.

In this role, you will work within a team of specialist Business Analysts, who analyse and write requirements, perform testing, and ensure documentation in place for regulatory programs, such as IPV and PAA amongst others.

We have a wide range of Business Analyst roles available at various level of seniority.


  • deliver requirements, testing and documentation on Product Control programs
  • generate ideas through analysing financial data and deliver value through automation projects
  • translate financial knowledge into system specification and contribute to process design
  • adopt and tailor global standards for business analysis of Product Control needs across P&L reporting, PAA and IPV
  • effectively manage stakeholders including senior leaders
  • influence the Product Control automation strategy within the global framework

Ideal background

  • fluent English knowledge
  • university / college degree in Finance, Accounting or similar
  • work experience in financial reporting or complex system implementation related role depending on the seniority of the position:
    • 1-3 years for Junior Business Analysts
    • 3+ years for Business Analyst
    • 5+ years for Senior Business Analysts
    • 7+ years for Lead Business Analysts
  • advanced MS Excel knowledge
  • knowledge of the software development lifecycle is an advantage
  • experience in Finance/Product Control reporting processes is an advantage
  • familiarity with IPV, PAA and P&L reporting concepts is an advantage
  • familiarity with advanced data tools (e.g. Python, KNIME) is an advantage
  • stakeholder centric approach and great interpersonal skills
  • strong planning and organisational skills
  • excellent analytical skills
