We are looking for a dynamic new joiner to our Corporate Banking Team, part of Banking Capital Markets and Advisory

Who we are?

The Corporate Banking is managing the relationships with the large privately owned corporates, State Owned Enterprises, Ministries and various other entities of the Romanian Government. The corporate banking team is responsible for deepening the wallet with the existing clients and expanding the relationship portfolio within the boundaries of the target market. The team is responsible for generating business opportunities at the intersection of a wide and complex array of products that include - beyond the day to day solutions for the transactional business and working capital optimization of our clients’ activities - M&A, Debt and Equity Capital Markets, Syndicated Loans and various other capital structuring/complex & value added products.

The position is located in Bucharest and provides great opportunity to use your interpersonal skills and business acumen to work with regional & local teams in an inspiring multinational environment.

In this position you will use and expand your experience and professional skills for the following responsibilities:

  • Immerse yourself in a dynamic and complex segment of the economy, across both private capital companies and SOEs
  • Develop your professional network with key partners and experienced decision makers both internal and external.
  • Interact with customer’s key decision makers (CEOs, CFOs, Treasurers, Finance Managers, various state representatives) in order to get a deep understanding of various business models, strategic insights and initiatives.
  • Assume business support responsibility over a diverse client portfolio with high complexity. Deepen understanding and fluency of debt & capital markets products by participating in landmark episodic deals.
  • Cooperate with other teams across the bank, to identify new opportunities and drive customer satisfaction. Regular interaction with peers within Citi (locally and globally) and frequently with senior management at country/cluster level.
  • Promote high-quality sales and customer service processes.

The ideal candidate for this position possesses the following qualifications and skills:

  • Native Romanian  and fluent English knowledge,
  • College/University Degree in Business/Finance/Economics or similar
  • Preferably 3-5 years of experience in credit/financial analysis, debt/capital markets exposure a plus.
  • Fluent in financial modelling, presentations, highly organized, multitasker and capable of working under pressure to observe tight deadlines.
  • Good knowledge of market, customers, competition, local regulations. Knowledge of Loan products, FX, cash management and trade products is an advantage
  • Capable to smoothly conduct client interactions, negotiations, can support/lead meetings with clients, internal Citi partners, peers
  • Team player attitude to work effectively with internal and external counterparts
