Overview of Role:
The IT Group Manager is accountable for the overall soundness of a critical large Global Platform in support of Communication ECOMM and Voice Surveillance. The Manager will lead and direct a team of 30+ professionals responsible for delivery of enhancements, improvements, and strategic solutions as per a defined book of work. As Manager you are required to have a comprehensive understanding of multiple areas within several functions and how they interact to achieve the objectives of the Program. As Manager you must understand the business impact of technical contributions and continue to explore areas of improvement. Generally accountable for delivery of a full range of services to one or more businesses/ geographic regions. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Accountable for the end results of an area. Exercises control over resources, policy formulation and planning. Involved in short- to medium-term planning of actions and resources for own area. Full management responsibility of a team or multiple teams, including management of people, budget and planning, to include performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions and terminations and budget approval.
Responsibilities:
- Management of a Development Team (30+) members supporting a Global Communication Surveillance Platform in the areas of Data Ingestion and pipeline, Processing Engine, and detection logic support and strategies
- Management of Development initiatives supporting several projects at the same time
- Ensures managed areas are aligned with business strategy and goals for ECOMM and Voice Surveillance
- Support Analytic needs to advance platform strategically with the adoption of NLP, Scoring, and other data science methods/solutions
- Management of Project Roadmap and Global Priorities. Execution and delivery of priorities
- Responsible for overall health of Platform. Responsible that development Team is applying best practices and following all technical guidelines and framework
- Applies in depth understanding of concepts and procedures within own area and basic knowledge of other areas to resolve issues that have impact across entire platform.
- Demonstrates an in depth understanding of how immediate area integrates within the overall technology function to achieve objectives; requires a good understanding of the industry.
- Responsible for working/partnering with Technology Teams from various disciplines across multiple time zones throughout the Globe
- Experience in Product/Program Ownership, Team Management, and execution of priorities against a defined roadmap
- Working with Internal clients and Application users as Subject Matter Expert on all matters related to area of responsibility
- Provides evaluative judgment based on analysis of factual information in a complicated, unique and dynamic situations; draws on diverse range of internal and external sources.
- Persuades and influences others through communication and diplomacy skills
- Responsible for issues Management and resolution of Production problems and outages when and if they occur
- Responsible for Teams overall wellbeing and development, responsible for administrative duties associated with being a manager
- Act as a primary point of contact for Audit and regulatory inquires and requests.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, managing, and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards
Qualifications:
- Strong experience in multiple technology disciplines with commensurate experience in people management.
- Budget management, Risk & Control management, influencing skills
- Industry knowledge, experience in Surveillance and application development
- Management of Technology Teams across a Global Platform in a collaborative environment
- Strong communication, presentation, decision making, and organizational Skills
Education:
- Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred
