Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Application Development Lead to manage the reference data application stack for the Equities Risk and Derivatives business, as the global lead you will have responsibility for a team of circa 20 engineers managing all reference data flows.

In this role you will be delivering the critical strategic rebuild of the reference data application stack for equities risk as part of the wider risk renovation project, including all listed security data, index composition data, exchange, account, holiday and other static data types.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with multiple teams to ensure appropriate integration of functions to meet goals as well as identify and define necessary system enhancements to deploy new products and process improvements

  • Work with one or more Applications Development teams to accomplish established goals as well as conduct personnel duties for the team

  • Resolve variety of high impact problems/projects through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards

  • Provide expertise in area and advanced knowledge of applications programming and ensure application design adheres to the overall architecture blueprint

  • Utilize advanced knowledge of system flow and develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation. Involve in preparing high level technical specification for the solution, code reviews and ensuring quality of the overall delivery

  • Develop comprehensive knowledge of how areas of business, such as architecture and infrastructure, integrate to accomplish business goals

  • Provide in-depth exploration with interpretive thinking to define issues and develop innovative solutions

  • Serve as advisor or coach to mid-level developers allocating work as necessary

  • Appropriately assess risk when business commitments are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behaviour, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant experience in the Financial Service industry

  • Experience as an Applications Development Manager

  • Experience as senior level in an Applications Development role

  • Stakeholder and people management experience

  • Demonstrated leadership skills

  • Proven project management skills

  • Basic knowledge of industry practices and standards

  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication

  • Should have hands-on experience of JVM based languages

  • Strong knowledge of application development methodologies

  • Strong RDBMS / NoSQL / Time-series data knowledge

  • Strong SQL Skills


Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience

  • Master’s degree preferred
