Business Unit Analyst

Locations: Belfast, Northern Ireland Job Function: Business Strategy, Management & Administration Employee Status: Regular Job ID: 20169587

This role sits within Front Office working as part of the global Commodities Business Unit Management team to support Sales & Trading. The primary function of the role is the management and completion of the in-business controls book of work (including trade, conduct and supervisory-related items), and involves close liaison with various Support Partners (Finance, Compliance, Ops etc) to ensure timely escalation and remediation of issues. This is an exciting opportunity for a practical-minded, detail-orientated professional with experience working in high-pressured, time-sensitive environments and a proven ability to manage a varied workload.


  • Management and completion of global controls processes, including key policy reviews, compliance monitoring, entitlements reviews, and other key controls arising from regulatory requirements
  • Maintain detailed control documentation, procedures, key metrics audit evidence
  • Work closely with the global Business Unit Management team to support business goals, and collaborate with cross functional teams including Sales, Trading, Product Control, Operations, Technology, and Compliance.
  • Support of business reporting processes to ensure quality, efficiency and accuracy
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behaviour, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency
  • Assist in internal audit reviews, providing materials arising from these reviews


  • Relevant work experience in financial services preferred
  • Experience working in global and complex settings with multiple stakeholders
  • Proven ability to work in a team of diverse skill sets and cultures
  • Proven ability to work in high-pressure, time-sensitive environments
  • Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for reporting and PowerPoint for presentation development
