The Senior Project Manager accomplishes results through the management of professional team(s) and department(s). Integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area. Contributes to standards around which others will operate. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the entire function. Requires basic commercial awareness. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Has responsibility for volume, quality, timeliness and delivery of end results of an area. May have responsibility for planning, budgeting and policy formulation within area of expertise. Involved in short-term planning resource planning.


  • Lead multiple complex projects and/or special assignments concurrently, using waterfall or agile project methodologies
  • Assemble and lead project sponsors, core project stakeholders and subject matter experts; evaluate project scope and drive project direction and document impacts
  • Identify critical stakeholders and deliver effective communication (written and verbal) to all levels including executive management
  • Act as a strategic thought leader from project conception through implementation
  • Drive project Business Requirements; includes interviewing business process or products owners, authoring scope, gaining approvals, updating project scope changes
  • Manage, communicate and author changes to the Business Requirements, which includes all scope increases, decreases or clarifications
  • Maintain and distribute meeting minutes, project summaries and project documentation. Deliver effective communication (written and verbal) to all levels including management
  • Communicate to executive teams utilizing dashboards, decks and/or material appropriate for senior leadership review and discussions
  • Review IT design and technical documents to ensure they effectively meet business/operational needs based on business requirements
  • Track, update, escalate and communicate project issues, risks and gaps, and action items while driving identification of priority and project or program impacts
  • Develop and execute project plans, conduct follow ups and update project documentation in accordance with established processes
  • Through all lifecycles of the project serve as the Business liaison which includes attending all project meetings, making key project decisions, identifying Business owners, escalating Business risks and issues, taking responsibility to deliver Business tasks
  • Able to perform any role or task that may be essential to completing a project or program
  • Serve as a Program Manager on large initiatives; includes overseeing other Business project Managers assigned to individual projects in the program
  • Develop broad Business subject matter expertise (SME); will be required at times to participate in additional projects or programs as a Business SME
  • Develop a maintain a strategic network across the organization which can be utilized to successfully drive projects
  • Participate and/or drive User Acceptance Testing(UAT), partner/3rd party integration testing, friendly-user-testing, pilot testing and production validation
  • Drive post implementation tasks, archive documents, participate in lessons learned meetings, project rollout and post- implementation product results tracking


  • 5 or more years project management, business analyst or technical experience
  • 2 or more years of experience at publishing, updating and communicated project Business Requirements
  • 2 or more years of experience at summarizing and clearly articulate issues and risks to project team and management
  • Experience in developing project plans, testing plans and mitigation plans
  • A strong understanding of business procedures, financial services, and technical terminology
  • Excellent leadership, communication and negotiation skills, must behave as an owner
  • People/Team management and large scale planning experience
  • Has organizational, analytical, decision-making, and problem solving skills
  • Clearly understands waterfall and agile practices and principles
  • Proficient in MS PPT,Word, Excel. Visio and SharePoint SPECIAL SKILLS (DESIRED – NOT REQUIRED)
  • Knowledge of relevant financial regulations and standards, such as OCC standards
  • Previous experience as Agile Couch, SME, Product Owner or Scrum Master


  • Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred
