Description
The Head of Southeast Region in CCB will lead the build-out and expansion of the bank’s commercial banking presence in this growth market. This senior leader will serve in dual capacity as a Mid-Corporate Sector Team Lead with direct management of relationship managers and is responsible for establishing a strong local footprint, assembling and developing a high-performing team, and driving rapid client acquisition and market share gains. The role requires an entrepreneurial mindset, deep industry expertise, and the ability to balance growth with disciplined risk management and adherence to regulatory standards.
This position is accountable for fostering seamless matrix collaboration across various internal teams within the Southeast region, including but not limited to CCB Sectors, CLM, Services, Operations, and other Product and support functions. The leader will champion a "One-Citi" approach by deepening partnerships with Banking, Markets, Services and other Citi businesses to deliver integrated solutions to clients. Influencing and collaborating with senior leadership within CCB and across Citi to align regional strategies with broader institutional goals is also a key expectation.
The Head of Southeast Region is paramount to unlocking the full potential of this key strategic growth play for CCB NAM. By deepening partnerships across Citi with a "One-Citi" approach and providing essential leadership and strategic direction, this role will effectively capture market share, solidify CCB-NAM's competitive advantage, and contribute significantly to the bank's overall growth trajectory.
This role will directly report to the CCB NAM Cluster Head, based out of Atlanta or Miami.
Key Responsibilities:
Market Growth & Strategy
Design and execute a market entry and expansion strategy to establish the bank as a leading commercial banking provider in the region.
Identify target industries, client segments, and partnership opportunities to accelerate growth.
Continuously adapt strategy based on market dynamics, competitive positioning, and client needs.
Team Build-Out & Leadership
Recruit, develop, and retain top local talent to create a best-in-class commercial banking team.
Instill a performance-driven, client-centric culture focused on growth and accountability.
Provide strong leadership and coaching to empower the team to deliver results.
Client Acquisition & Relationship Management
Personally engage with priority clients and prospects to establish market credibility.
Drive new client acquisition while building long-term relationships that deepen share of wallet.
Partner with product teams to deliver holistic solutions.
Risk & Credit Management
Establish sound credit and risk practices as the business scales.
Maintain portfolio quality while supporting innovative and growth-oriented solutions.
Ensure adherence to all compliance, regulatory, and operational standards.
Collaboration & Franchise Building
Serve as the senior market ambassador for the bank in the region.
Partner with other lines of business (Corporate and Investment Banking, Markets, Services, Wealth Management, etc.) to deliver the full firm platform.
Build strong community and industry relationships to enhance the bank’s reputation and visibility.
Financial & Operational Performance
Deliver aggressive growth in revenue, balance sheet, and market share.
Manage budgets, staffing, and resources to support rapid expansion.
Track KPIs and ensure execution discipline as the franchise scales.
Knowledge / Experience
15+ years of commercial/corporate banking experience with demonstrated industry expertise
Proven track record of leading teams to capture market share and accelerate client acquisition.
Entrepreneurial, hands-on leadership style with the ability to thrive in a build-out environment.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
In-depth knowledge of all aspects of commercial/corporate banking products including cash management, derivatives, syndicated and bilateral loans, capital markets issuances, trade, etc.
Significant experience with credit decision making authority, with experience in complex capital structures and cross-border transactions
Multi-year experience pitching and executing capital markets solutions, including joint calling with investment bankers as well as independently is desired
Possesses sound judgment and is creative in providing structured solutions to bank clients
Business builder capable of creating vision and motivating the team
Minimum intermediate level credit skills with the capability to demonstrate advanced level credit skills to be appointed a senior credit officer

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
Master's/MBA degree preferred from a top economics, business, or financial engineering program
Senior Credit Officer or Senior Credit Officer candidate.
