Credit Portf Officer

Locations: Atlanta, Georgia, Elk Grove Village, Illinois Job Function: Risk Management Employee Status: Regular Job ID: 20163170

Key Responsibilities

  • Understand applicable credit policies, industry regulations and the requisite impact of those governance items on initiatives
  • Establish and leverage cross-functional partnerships and network with key internal and external constituencies
  • Utilize Statistical Analysis System (SAS) in a UNIX environment to perform risk, financial and data analyses including profiling, sampling, forecasting and new program due diligence
  • Prepare risk management presentations for senior management that include analytics on expected portfolio performance and areas of potential risk and/or opportunity
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in a large, sophisticated credit granting or risk management organization within a major consumer card, financial services, retailing or consulting business. A strong analytical orientation, and an appreciation for broad-based risk issues and a familiarity with operations are desired. In addition, the successful candidate will possess and be able to exhibit the following skills and requirements:

  • BA/BS Degree with specialization in Business, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering or Economics.  Masters degree preferred
  • 5+ years experience in financial services, preferably in Risk Management 
  • Experience building credit policy strategies, preferably on a credit card portfolio
  • The ability to apply credit and risk principles toward business objectives
  • Excellent overall business judgment and solid management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize and prioritize
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Proven skills to manage effectively across cross functional areas in a matrix-organization
  • Extensive knowledge of SAS programming including macro and SQL and  knowledge of Knowledge Studio
  • The candidate must demonstrate strong organizational skills, have strong multi-tasking ability and an ability to learn and apply new skills quickly
