Citi mainly operates through Citibank Europe Plc, Netherlands and Belgium Branch within Netherlands and Belgium. We support our clients by offering Banking, Capital Markets and Advisory, Trade and Treasury Solutions, Citi Commercial Banking and Securities Services products.

In Finance we have team members based in Amsterdam, Brussels, Luxembourg, Vienna, Frankfurt and Budapest. This group represents the country financial controllers responsibilities but we belong to the wider Citi Finance organization with coworkers around the globe working in our Shared Service centers.

We are looking for a fluent Dutch speaking staff member to join our team to support Netherlands Belgium. The role can be based either in Amsterdam or Budapest.

Key Responsibilities:

Prerequisite for successful candidate is to speak fluent Dutch. This is needed to manage the relationships with Dutch and Belgian authorities. In this role the candidate will work in end-to-end legal entity management covering various disciplines of Finance. The candidate will be supported by subject matter experts from the wider Citi Finance network and external advisors who will be working with the individual.

  • Financial Management – the role involves the management of financials from legal entity perspective covering all business lines as well as managing the business and product views. The focus is not only on profit and loss accounts but also on managing the balance sheet.

  • Local Regulatory Reporting & Tax – Ensuring timely and accurate local regulatory reporting is one of the key responsibilities. In this role the candidate will work with Regulatory Reporting production team to perform oversight controls over reporting. The candidate will work to remain updated on most recent developments in reporting and accounting. Next to local regulatory reporting comes preparation of financial statements and managing the annual external audit. Lastly, the role entails the periodic VAT and Corporate Income Tax filings with the support of our tax specialists.

  • Controls and Governance – Everything we do, we maintain a robust control environment. In this role the candidate will perform monthly internal controls checks as well as drive the quarterly controls monitoring testing and assessment. Part of the job is active participation in internal controls trainings and keeping up to date with latest policies and directives governing the reporting framework.

  • Driving Digital & Project Management – In this role the candidate will participate in various initiatives and projects supporting and leading them for his/her respective legal entities. High level of organizational skills will help the candidate to manage their tasks and time to deliver excellence. We pursue working smarter not harder while still respecting the Citi’s policies and directives.

Knowledge/Experience:

  • 7+ years of experience from Financial Controlling
  • Accounting principles Dutch/Belgian/US GAAP
  • Regulatory Reporting (European an advantage)
  • Knowledge of banking products is advantage
  • Experience working with offshored teams and outsourced activities
  • People management experience is an advantage

Skills:

  • Fluent Dutch is prerequisite to be successful in the role.
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Team player and good interactive communication skills
  • Reengineering, project management, process change skills and ability to develop innovative, yet pragmatic solutions and approaches that "fit" the environment
  • Ability to engage subject matter experts (internal and external) to address and resolve issues
  • Ability to adapt to new technologies quickly
  • Strong skills with Microsoft Office applications

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelors’ degree (Master’s degree is preferred)
  • Certification from Accounting is an advantage
  • International Working experience is an advantage
  • Experience in Finance/ Audit function an advantage
