Responsibilities
The Head of Design Operations will partner with Design Leadership team to support the scaling and efficiency of ICG design teams. In this role, you will lead and facilitate the planning, execution, and tracking of various UX design projects and programs. You will amplify the value of design by providing clear responsibilities and workflowsthatempower designers to focus exclusively on user experience. You'll also manage the evolution of our growing Design System to ensure alignment with our product strategy. This includesmanaging the Design System components, documenting best practices, and exporting knowledge to others.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Ensure consistency in tooling and workstream tracking across ICG Design
Oversee the creation and maintenance of support materials, learning programs, and design methodology
Introduce beneficial methodologies and shared vocabulary that aid ICG UX Designers in their day-to-day work
Proactively solves day-to-day problems and determine when to escalate issues within the organization
Collaborate in the development of deliverables, supports the ongoing activities of workstream programs and identifies opportunities
Acts as an internal quality control check for all programs and projects to ensure they meet Design requirements
Drive process improvements and efficienciesto create better UX experiences.
Manage a backlog of components and patternsfor the ICG Design System
Unlocking product teams to ship solutions at a greater pace, scale, and efficiency
Key Skills Include:
Practical experience in building, maintaining, and measuring enterprise design systems
Drive alignment across designers on respective teams and cross functional partners
Impact the growth and scale of the design team
Create and maintain established workflows to create visibility of work and manage workloads, while enabling continuous improvement during projects
Manage the Design team's needs to ensure they have the tools to ensure quality and output
Excellent analysis, problem-solving and time management skills
Proven capability to set clear expectations and manage team performance
Organized, extremely detail oriented and able to balance multiple priorities
Experience & Education:
10+ years of relevant experience
Extensive hands-on professional experience leading Design Operations in a product design environment
Significant experience working with senior clients, stakeholders, and developers
Project Management Professional or Project Management Institute certification
Proven experience in multiple project management methodologies
Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree a plus
