The Role:

The Senior Info Sec Data Engineer is a senior level position responsible for driving efforts to prevent, monitor and respond to information/data breaches and cyber-attacks. The overall objective of this role is to ensure the execution of Information Security directives and activities in alignment with Citi's data security policy.

The Team:

In support of the Cyber Security Fusion Center (CSFC) mission, the Technology Data & Analytics team is responsible for researching, developing, and deploying various technologies and analysis products. As such, desired staff members are responsible for developing various solutions and automation capabilities to support the timeliness and efficiency of visualizing the CSFC data gathered from a variety of Intelligence sources. In support of the data analytics groups the following are the main responsibilities for the data analyst supporting Big Data and Statistical Modeling technologies, methodologies, and techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Determine database structural requirements by analyzing client operations, applications, and programming, while reviewing objectives with clients and evaluating current systems
  • Processing large amounts of structured and unstructured data
  • Effectively use data to visualize and communicate findings while maintaining data confidentiality, integrity and availability
  • Develop corrective action language for Information Security (IS) gaps and ensure risk closure meets Citi requirements or industry best practices
  • Facilitate the implementation of approved IS tools and identify/recommend new or improved security solutions or emerging technologies
  • Mitigate risk by analyzing the root cause of issues, impacts to business, and required corrective actions and develop security solutions
  • Ensure IS compliance and seek opportunities to enhance the efficiency of IS policies and procedures
  • Identify significant IS threats and vulnerabilities, and define appropriate controls for discovered threats, documenting the business response
  • Disseminate changes to IS regulations and standards to Business and Program owners
  • Provide Information Security advice and counsel as needed

Qualifications

  • 6-10 years' experience utilizing all or most of the technologies and processes below
  • Experience working in Linux environments (bash, zsh, writing cron jobs, use of systemctl for maintenance, setting of environment variables, etc.)
  • Experience with RedHat Enterprise package management (yum)
  • Experience with SSH clients (preferably Tectia) for terminal access and file transfer
  • Previous experience with or exposure to machine learning toolsets such as H2O, DataRobot, or SparkML
  • Ability to analyze new data sources and create/modify databases to onboard data to SQL and NoSQL Databases
  • Strong proficiency in any variant(s) of SQL
  • Experience with graph and NoSQL databases
  • Programming expertise, ideally in Python, Spark, Java or Kafka but not limited to them
  • Data analysis skills, including but not limited to use of Excel/Google Sheets, MS Access and business intelligence tools (Tableau, Microsoft PowerBI, Microstrategy) to analyze static data sets
  • Experience working in the Hadoop ecosystem and working with MapReduce
  • Experience supporting and troubleshooting data engineering/ETL processes in production environments
  • Persistence and tenacity in chasing down elusive issues across multiple layers of a complex ecosystem
  • Strong understanding of correlation, multivariate regression and all aspects of massaging data together to look at it from different angles for use in predictive and prescriptive modeling
  • Ability to design prototypes and deploy machine learning algorithms, data mining insights, data visualizations, and statistical models for key strategic initiatives using CSFC multi-dimensional data sets
  • Proficiency in designing, testing, and maintaining multiple databases with feeding work streams
  • Ability to communicate and perform cross-validation of findings with stakeholders and subject matter experts
  • Ability to think creatively and participate as both an individual contributor and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Knowledge of data engineering concepts and experience with associated tool sets to support data wrangling from across a wide array of disparate data sources
  • Experience processing large amount of structured and unstructured data
  • Strong analytical mindset and experience with statistics
  • Demonstrated ability to research and apply current information regarding the IS field
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • Proven influencing and relationship management skills
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral
  • Client and quality driven is a must

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Any relevant technical certifications are highly preferred

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$113,840.00 - $170,760.00
